Mirathane 7445 liquid rubber consists of Parts A and B. After mixing and drying at room temperature it becomes a flexible, high-strength polymer. Mirathane 7445 Epoxy Resin rubber is durable, easy to remove from mold for plaster and wax castings with no release agents, but also excellent for cement, epoxy, polyester, urethane and acrylic casting with the right release agent. It is suitable for use as a strong and flexible sealant. Easy to use under normal conditions, for example ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure.
Application Normally no release agent is required when casting plaster or liquid wax in Mirathane 7445 series molds. Sponging, dipping or spraying the mold with Release Agent MQZ 11 before pouring the plaster into the mold reduces air bubbles in the plaster and aids removal. MQV 10 Release Agent is an excellent release agent for most resins. MQZ 1 Release Agent is preferred for casting concrete. Exposure to dissolved forms containing solvents should be kept to a minimum to reduce the possibility of fungal distortion due to shrinkage or swelling. Shrinkage can be seen after repeated casting with resins which have strong solubility or porous casting materials such as plaster or cement which can extract oil from the mold. Selection of the appropriate release agent and / or protective coating can minimize this effect. Mirathane 7445 series prints will last for years if stored undistorted on a flat surface in a cool, dry location out of direct sunlight.
